Until not so long ago, the best way to watch a movie was to go to a movie theatre. With the advent of VCR and DVD’s you could of course rent a movie, and watch it within the comfort of your home. But the small screen of the TV, along with the poor voice quality simply did not compare to that of watching the same movie in the theatres. Home Theatres or Home Cinemas are entertainment systems designed to reproduce the same sound and video quality that you find in the theatres. With home theatre systems, you can enjoy high quality sound and picture quality, within the comforts of your own home.
To build a home theater, the following components are required at the minimum:
- A large-screen television (at least 27 inches) with good picture quality
- At least four speakers
- Equipment for splitting up the surround-sound signal and sending it to the speakers
- Something that plays or broadcasts movies in surround sound
The main thing which differentiates a home theater apart from an ordinary television setup is the surround sound. To get the effect of sound, you would need to install two to three speakers in front of you and two to three speakers to your sides or behind you. This arrangement gives the effect of different sound coming from various speakers.
The front speakers emit the most prominent sounds. When someone or something is making a sound on the left side of the screen, you hear it more from the speakers placed on the left of the screen, and vice versa. The speaker placed at the center of the screen plays an important role as it anchors the sound coming from the left and right speakers.
Home theatre systems can give watching TV and movies a whole new meaning. Once you watch a game or a movie on a home theatre, you would agree that there is no better way to watch the same. With a small investment, you can bring the joy and excitement of owning a home theatre system. There is a variety of home theatres available these days.
Bring home the joy of watching TV, bring home a home theatre system
